The Pies

Pie flavors and ingredients change with the season and we always use the freshest ingredients available. Pies feature locally grown fruits, vegetables, dairy, and grains from a wide number of Massachusetts farms that practice sustainable agriculture.

Pie Share

The 2017 Pie Share season sign ups will begin on March 14, 2017.

A season’s subscription provides 1 pie every other week for 18 weeks (June-October) and will alternate between sweet and savory pies (9 pies total). Large pies (9”) are perfect for families, with 6-8 slices each, while small pies (6”) are just right for singles or smaller families, with 2-3 generous slices.

A taste of the pies you might receive:

  • Spinach, green garlic, and ricotta tart (June)
  • Apricot almond frangipane tart (July)
  • Tomato, goat cheese, and sweet corn (August)
  • Cardamom-spiced plum crumble (September)
  • Butternut squash, caramelized onion, and sage tart (October)

In 2017 the pie shares will be available at Brookwood Community Farm in Milton, Powisset Farm in Dover, MA, Pakeen Farm in Canton, Medway Community Farm, and Jamaica Plain.

Each year we consider adding additional locations. If you are a farm that would like to serve as a pie distribution site or if you would like to discuss alternative distribution sites, please contact us.

Weddings & Events

Bushel + Crumb is available to cater your special event. Pie is a delicious wedding dessert!

The details:

  • Our whole pies are 9” and serve approximately 8 people.
  • If you want to book a date, we ask for a 50% deposit. You can make the deposit through the mail by a personal check.
  • Confirmed clients can schedule a pie tasting to determine what flavors you’d like. We recommend scheduling 2-3 weeks in advance of your wedding to taste from the menu that will be available.
  • Delivery is available within the greater-Boston area for an additional delivery fee.

Holiday Pies

Each year we offer a variety of sweet and savory Bushel + Crumb pies to help you have a festive and delicious holiday celebration. Information about Thanksgiving and Christmas pies will be posted in the fall.

Heating Your Pies

To serve your already baked Bushel + Crumb pie warm, cover the pie with foil and heat for about 15 minutes in a pre-heated 350 degree oven.

To bake a frozen, unbaked Bushel + Crumb pie, place the frozen pie (no need to thaw) in a preheated 350 degree oven and bake for approximately 1 hour. The pie is done when the fruit is beginning to bubble and the top crust or crumble is lightly browned. If the crust begins to brown before the pie appears fully cooked, simply cover the pie with foil and continue baking until done. Fruit pies should rest for at least an hour before serving to help the fruit filling set.
